He Shall Return

A painful cry resounds
A final breath echoes
As God who became man dies
As wrath is poured out
On One undeserving
The world is set free

Glory to the One who gave Himself for me
He who died has washed away all my sins

And as three days pass
As morning light appears
The Morningstar is found not there

Praise to the One who has risen from the grave
His sacrifice for me has cleansed me through

So I will praise Him, glorify forever
For the life He gave
And pain He suffered
And the love that never fails
God of mercy thank you for the cross

Hallelujah to the One who reigns in heaven
One day he shall return
He shall return

(I wrote this at FYR 2013. Initially intended for a song, I recreated it as a poem.)

Another Song

While I was in Guatemala, I wrote this song. I was sitting down and thought that it would be pretty cool if I wrote a song while there. I wrote this song based on the theme that we had been going on for the whole year. It’s entitled Jesus, You Are Greater. It became one of my favorite songs that I’ve written. Again, it’s just the words, but I hope all you readers will enjoy it.

Jesus, You are Greater

Verse 1:

Firstborn over all creation, You are the Creator

You are all-powerful, reigning in heaven above

Chorus:

Giving up all your riches, You came to save

Giving up all your rights, You came to give

Humbling yourself, You took my sins upon your shoulders

 Verse 2:

Firstborn over all creation, You are my Maker

You are Almighty, reigning in heaven above

Bridge:

In the midst of my failures

In the midst of my problems

In the midst of all my fears

I’ll look to You

I’ll look to You

In the midst of my failures

In the midst of my problems

In the midst of all my fears

I’ll remember you

I’ll remember you

(‘Cause) Jesus You are greater

Jesus You are greater

End:

Jesus, You are greater

Jesus You are greater

Songwriting

Okay. Time to introduce another aspect of me. Music and songwriting. As I stated previously, I am a musician. I play the piano and the guitar. One of the greatest joys to me is songwriting. I have always aspired to record an album, and I have written quite a few over the years. The very, very first one I wrote I cannot remember and is lost somewhere into the void of the oblivion. (I still remember the theme, and perhaps I will write another song based on it.) But the official first song I still have. So that’s the first one I’m going to share.

Coz’ You Died For Me

Verse 1:

Walking on the path of emptiness

Walking in the dark to the wilderness

Pre-chorus

You came looking for me

And you died for me

Chorus

I don’t want to run anymore

I want to come after you

Coz’ You died for me

I don’t want to hide anymore

I want to seek your face

Coz’ You died for me

Verse 2

Now I have found you

Now I’m happier still (x2)

Bridge

Take my life, it is yours to use

Take my every breath I will be living for You

Praises will pour out from my heart

Now, I’m not going to post a video or chords (maybe in the future), so I guess treat it as poetry for the moment.

I’ll continue to post songs on my blog as time goes by. Hope everyone who reads this likes this song!
