Songwriting

Okay. Time to introduce another aspect of me. Music and songwriting. As I stated previously, I am a musician. I play the piano and the guitar. One of the greatest joys to me is songwriting. I have always aspired to record an album, and I have written quite a few over the years. The very, very first one I wrote I cannot remember and is lost somewhere into the void of the oblivion. (I still remember the theme, and perhaps I will write another song based on it.) But the official first song I still have. So that’s the first one I’m going to share.

Coz’ You Died For Me

Verse 1:

Walking on the path of emptiness

Walking in the dark to the wilderness

Pre-chorus

You came looking for me

And you died for me

Chorus

I don’t want to run anymore

I want to come after you

Coz’ You died for me

I don’t want to hide anymore

I want to seek your face

Coz’ You died for me

Verse 2

Now I have found you

Now I’m happier still (x2)

Bridge

Take my life, it is yours to use

Take my every breath I will be living for You

Praises will pour out from my heart

Now, I’m not going to post a video or chords (maybe in the future), so I guess treat it as poetry for the moment.

I’ll continue to post songs on my blog as time goes by. Hope everyone who reads this likes this song!

Interesting story…during a bottle drive.

Okay, this occurred last month, but I thought it an interesting thing that happened.

So, during a bottle drive for the mission trip to Guatemala last month, one of my friends was talking to a person we passed. This person told my friend not to bother to ask at his house because he didn’t have any bottles or cans or whatever. He also said that we would be able to recognize his house because it had a yellow car. All right, we thought. My friend informed me and pointed out the house which he thought was the house. We skipped it and went on.

After going down a house or two, I noticed that there was another house with a yellow car. I stopped and looked back at the house we had just skipped. Also I had previously noticed its owner coming back and the yellow car gone. What if my friend was mistaken, I mused. I told him and we decided that he must have been mistaken. We went back and the owner gave us a nice medium-size bag of recyclables.

YES! we thought. And our thoughts were in agreement: God IS doing something. It was as if He was saying, “No. Not yet. Don’t go to that house yet. NOW go.” Coincidence? Nope. Providence.

Brings up another thought. Just one bag of stuff? you might think. Well, expect big things from God. But also remember that He can work in little things. After all, if we don’t credit him with small things, aren’t we liable to forgetting to thank Him for big ones?

By the way, our initial bottle drive route had to be cut in half because there was just WAY too much stuff to sort. So…God is good, no?

Why I Started This Blog.

So, before I jump into any other posts or anything else, I want to say this.

There is a twofold reason why I started this blog. One, I always wanted to start a blog. Second, the purpose of the first part of this blog, following the example of some of my friends,  is to document (journal, record, whatever) my participation in a mission trip to Guatemala (March 19th to 29th). My church’s youth group is sending a youth mission team to Guatemala. I have been selected to be on the team. We will help a family renovate their house and help run a VBS (Vacation Bible School)-type program for the children.

I am very excited and pumped for this privilege. I am really eager to see what God has in store for us.

To all out there who will read this, please pray. Pray for God’s hand to move. Pray for His Providence and guidance. (After all, He’s the one who orchestrates this). Other prayer points will come up and I will post them up as the clock ticks down.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 18 – 20).

Yup, that’s what we aim to do.

Introducing Me…

How do I start? Well, Tim Lee is my name. I am home-schooled and have a younger brother.

To describe the rest of me is somewhat difficult. I love music, games, and friends. Above all, I love Jesus, my Saviour and Friend.

I am a songwriter and a musician. I play the guitar and the piano. I can also play the bass when needed. I am part of a youth worship band who have a mission to use music to worship God and help others do the same.

I love to play computer games, and I took a course on how to make them…(more on that in a later post).

I love my youth group. I think that it is a blessing from God.

Well, these are my likes. Who am I REALLY?

First and foremost, I am a child of God. Then the rest of me is really what’s difficult to describe. I can be weird. Period. (Usually on a scale of one to ten, I am a six or seven. When excited and energetic, a ten.) I like to burst with energy and try not to be unfriendly, though I can be shy. (Three minutes later, one would think that I am the most talkative person in the world 🙂 ).

This is my very first blog post (so WOO-HOO!).

To end this, I want to put up a verse.

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40: 30 – 31).
